LSR was established in 1987 in Albuquerque, New Mexico as a subsidiary of the Lovelace Medical Foundation. The goal of which was to establish a group-practice model of medical care, education and medical research. Since 1991 the Foundation has operated as the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute (LRRI) and functions independently of the Lovelace Health Systems. Today LSR is a multi-state hub for sponsored clinical, biomedical, pharmaceutical and device testing. Our site is a proving ground for a variety of drug clinical trials. We maintain strong contractual relationships with drug sponsors seeking FDA apporval for new medications to go to market.
